Six Months Down.
Six Months Left.
Here Is Where We Actually Are.
I made a 2026 bingo card in January. — soon will be the last day of the first half of the year — and I have not checked a single box yet. Here is the honest truth about why that is not the failure story it sounds like. 🤎
Today is June 28th. One day closer to completing the first half of 2026. And I am sitting here looking at my 2026 bingo card with zero boxes checked and a lot of feelings about that. 🤎🙄
The honest version of this moment — the one I am choosing to share with you instead of waiting until everything looks prettier — is that the first half of 2026 was full of movement, full of progress, and full of real life happening in real time. The numbers moved. The goals advanced. The work got done. But the boxes? Are still empty.
And here is what I have learned about goals — being close is not the same as being done, but being close means the second half is where it all comes together. 🤎
So today I am showing you exactly where every goal stands at the halfway point. And then I am mapping out the exact plan — skills, people, habits, and tools — that gets every single box checked before December 31st.
This is not a highlight reel. This is a mid-year business meeting with myself — and you are invited. 🤎
The 2026 Bingo Card
Every goal I set for myself in January — visible, honest, and exactly where it stands today.
At the beginning of 2026 I created a bingo card with every major goal I wanted to accomplish this year. Not just financial goals — life goals. Health. Relationships. Career. Business. The whole picture of what a great 2026 looks like for our household.
Here is where every single square stands right now on June 28th:
There is one square on this bingo card I am keeping to myself for now — not because I am hiding anything but because I have learned that some goals need to be protected from outside noise until they are finished. Unsolicited advice, well-meaning doubt, and even the best intentions can quietly chip away at momentum before a goal is complete. When I finish it you will be the first to know. Stay subscribed. 👀🤎
The Real Numbers — First Half of 2026
No filters. No rounding up. Just exactly where every number stands on June 28th.
This is the part of the mid-year check-in most people skip because the numbers are not where they planned them to be. I am not skipping it. Here is exactly where we stand: 🤎
Both in progress 🔥
Moe's goal: Get her loans below $40,000. Currently at $42,000 — just $2,000 away. 🔥
O's goal: Get his loans under 5 figures — below $10,000. Currently at $12,000 — only $2,000 away from single digits. So close. 🔥
Both paying weekly to reduce interest and throwing extra payments at both loans every paycheck.
Need: $15K more
80% of the way there. Contributing $1,000 every month into Marcus by Goldman Sachs earning 4%+ APY. This one is close. 🤎
On track ✅
Started and saving consistently. Contributing from every paycheck in Ally Bank. The goal is $20,000 by December 2027 — the system is in place. ✅
Got 4.5% ✅
4.5% raise to $145,000. Missed the 5% target by half a percent — but $145K is a real milestone and the journey continues. 🤎
Sprint: 10K now
The foundation is being built — weekly videos, Sunday blogs, membership community, Shorts daily. 10K is the immediate target. 50K is the vision. 🤎
Biweekly dates ✅
Biweekly date nights. Poconos birthday trip. Fun and intentional time together. This is the closest box to being checked — and it is funded by our sinking funds. 🤎
Being 80% There Is Still 80% Further Than We Were.
I looked at this bingo card this morning and my first feeling was — I have not done enough. Six months in and nothing is checked off. But then I sat with the actual numbers. $60,000 in house savings
. None of these boxes are checked because I set big goals. Goals that require a full year — not a half year. And the progress is real even when the box is empty. 🤎
If you are doing a mid-year check-in right now and feeling behind — I want you to look at how far the number moved, not just whether the box is checked. Movement matters. Progress is real. Keep going. 🤎
The Honest Reflection
What actually happened in the first half of 2026 — the wins, the gaps, and what I learned.
The first half of 2026 was genuinely eventful. My husband started a new job. We switched to an alternate biweekly pay schedule. We navigated a credit card balance from birthday spending and built a payoff plan. We launched new Paper By Moe content consistently. We took the Poconos trip. We built the budget system from scratch around new income and new timing.
That is not a half-year of sitting still. That is a half-year of building — even when the building did not feel dramatic or fast enough. 🤎
"The boxes are not checked because the goals are big enough to require a full year. That is not a failure. That is intentional goal setting working exactly the way it is supposed to."
The two areas where I am being the most honest with myself heading into the second half — therapy and consistent physical health. These are not financial goals but they affect every financial goal I have. My mental clarity, my energy, my discipline, my ability to show up consistently for Paper By Moe and for my household — all of it connects back to whether I am taking care of myself physically and emotionally.
The second half of 2026 requires that I treat these two boxes with the same intentionality I give to the savings goals and the YouTube goals. Because a burnout version of Moe cannot build the financial future Paper By Moe is designed for. 🤎
The Goal Map — Skills People Habits Tools
Every goal has four components — here is exactly what each one requires to get finished by December 31st.
A goal without a system is just a wish. So for each of my four main goal categories I am mapping out the four things I actually need — the skills to develop, the people to lean on, the habits to build, and the tools to use. This is how the second half gets different results than the first. 🤎
The Second Half Game Plan — July to December
Six months. Every goal. The exact plan to check every box before December 31st.
Here is what the second half of 2026 looks like goal by goal — specific, honest, and built around the real numbers and real timeline we are working with: 🤎
Currently at $60,000. Contributing $1,000 per month to Marcus. At this rate we hit $66,000 by December — not quite $75K. To close the gap we need to either increase contributions or identify months with extra income that can be directed here. The home purchase goal runs parallel — if the right house at the right price becomes available before the $75K target the goal still checks off. 🤎
My husband and I each have our own student loan goal — and both are incredibly close to being checked off. 🤎
Moe's goal — loans below $40,000: Currently at $42,000. That is only $2,000 away from checking this box. With the aggressive extra payment strategy we have built into our alternate biweekly budget this goal is within reach before the end of summer. 🔥
O's goal — loans under five figures: Currently at $12,000. That means we are just $2,000 away from his balance dropping below $10,000 for the first time. Getting a loan into single digit thousands is one of the most motivating milestones in a debt payoff journey — and it is right there. 🔥
Both goals are being attacked simultaneously — weekly payments to reduce interest, extra payments from every paycheck, and the July No Spend Challenge redirecting even more toward these balances. The second half of 2026 is where both of these boxes get checked. 🤎
This is the box closest to being checked and it is the one that reminds me financial freedom is about the life you build — not just the numbers. Biweekly date nights are in the budget. The Poconos birthday trip happened. The sinking fund for couple's maintenance is funded every paycheck. The second half plan is simple — protect the calendar, protect the fund, and keep showing up for each other with the same intentionality we give our savings goals. 🤎
The 50K subscriber goal is a December 2026 target but the real milestone that unlocks everything else is 10,000 — and we are in the sprint right now. Weekly videos every Tuesday. Weekly Shorts. Sunday blogs. The July No Spend Challenge as a community growth event. The second half plan is to hit 10K first and let the momentum carry toward 50K. The foundation is already built. 🤎
I am being fully honest here — these two boxes have not had enough attention in the first half of 2026. Therapy not started. Gym on and off. The second half plan is non-negotiable: find a therapist in July and book the first appointment before August 1st. Commit to gym three times per week as a calendar appointment not a when I feel like it decision. These are not luxuries. They are the infrastructure for everything else on this bingo card. A healthy, grounded, rested Moe builds better — in every area. 🤎
This goal is protected until it is complete. What I will say is — the study plan is built, the timeline is set, and the work is happening. When the box gets checked you will be the first to know. 🤎 Stay subscribed. 👀
